Sunday March 21st - Saturday March 27th
4 - 8 participants.

"Digital photography demystified"

We start on Tuesday evening with a meal, and an informal, introductory meeting.
Over the next 5 full days, we seek to take you through the various stages of digital photography, explaining techniques and terminology in straightforward ways, encouraging 'good practice', and giving you plenty of time for practical work both out and about with the camera, and back at the house on the computers.

Each day involves a formal teaching session, at 9.30. After a mid morning coffee break we continue with practical work in the computer room, before lunch at 1.00 p. m. During the afternoon you are free to choose between going out photographing at some prime locations or continuing work with the computers. Evenings give opportunities for group discussion, further practical work or just to chill out and enjoy being here!

The emphasis will be on production of individual work to a high standard, and on practical skills, to form the basis of a solid understanding of digital techniques. Each participant will be encouraged to produce some finished work by the end of the week, and to take part in the final evening's celebratory exhibition!

With the small group size, Ian will tailor the workshop to your own requirements, enabling the workshop to cater for different levels of skill and experience.

Ian Angus, Digital Course Leader, in the kitchen at Quiraing LodgeIan has worked in the audio-visual business for over twenty years. In that time he has been responsible for designing and producing artwork for commercial slide and video presentations, and has in the last ten years witnessed the change from old technologies - typesetting, film, pegbar animation and rostrum photography - to the new digital techniques with computer-based desktop publishing and photographic manipulation.
